Get er done
Well tonight we actually made some headway in getting our Carebear corp out into low sec. Fr3shmeat, Eyeharvest, and I went on a nice little plex run tonight. We completed 10 minors and 3 mediums in our dessy/frig fleet. Fr3shmeat scored on my previous offer of a free Tristan for anyone who wanted to come with (I gave him 2). We had 3-4 PvP opportunities, but we were outgunned (by this I mean by players that have been playing for 3 years compared to our combined 1 year of game time) so we took the safe route and left the complex before the veterans could get a warp scrambler on us. The Gallente federation was nice enough to promote each of us for our efforts, which lead to more LPs and standing.
We also took part in some fleet operations, unfortunately it was a pretty low action fleet night, killed a couple WTs (Abandon, Caracal, Harpy, and a couple others), but couldn't get the main Caldari fleet to engage. Once again it was a good learning experience being under the FC's wing trying to learn general fleet warfare tactics.
Hopefully we'll have a small PvP gang of corp members running around in the near future!
Until next time,
Chan

Plexing for the Win
All,
We all know that Phoenix Corporation is going through a bit of a learning curve with the Factional Warfare component added into our routines. Most of the corp members like to run their missions and generally build up skills like everyone did at the beginning of their careers.
I'm hear to tell ya that running complexes for the Gallente Militia can be a rewarding experience for players of all levels. At first glance it will either seem boring or too risky depending on your current views/skills. But oddly enough it falls right in between the afore mentioned descriptions. Yes sometimes running plexes on a dead night can be boring for the member who wants to PvP until their fingers go numb. But 60-70% of the time running a plex yields a PvP opportunity, and better yet, you get to choose the ship size your enemy is flying! And for those of you who think that running complexes in low sec is too risky for all of those precious new shiny ships, fear not, tag along with one of the Phoenix Corp plexing Fleet Commanders and your chance of going boom decreases exponentially (remember never fly what you cannot afford to lose)!
In addition to the striking out on a new path in Eve, running complexes for Gallente has the added bonus of pissing the Caldari Militia off and possibly winning back that first system for the Gallente empire. Don't forget that complexes and FW missions grant LPs that can be used to buy all types of Faction gear for your battle hardened mission ship.
For members who would like to try out FW complexes, I'll offer up free Gallente Frigs, and maybe even a destroyer or two if you're lucky! See you in space.

Faction Warfare Lessons
Here are some things I have learned while doing faction warfare so far.
1. Know when to talk, when to ask questions and when to shut up and follow instructions. Fleet heirarchy must be maintained and the FC's must be obeyed, otherwise defeat is inevitable.
2. Your overview must be set properly in a fleet engagement. Simplify it by turning fleet members off. This will allow fast locking of primaries and also prevent accidental blue on blue (friendly) fire.
3. Primaries are called by the FC's for a reason. See #1 and shoot the called primary, whether you agree with the target selection or not. Otherwise enemy ships will survive and your fleet will not.
4. Militia Chat is an essential tool for information regarding gate camps and war targets on a possible route. Read it. Use it. Also, if you see war targets in local, post the info in militia chat. Information is a powerful weapon.
5. Don't type tactical information in militia chat or local chat about your fleet for the same reasons. Names, ship types, mods, known dispositions of enemy fleets, etc. can provide valuable information to "spies" in militia or unaligned neutrals and/or war targets in local.
6. If you participate in FW, turn off your CSPA charges. FC's get annoyed when they have to pay a fee to throw you a fleet invite.
7. Pheonix Corps IS AT WAR!!! This means that you must all be more aware and careful, regardless of your location. War targets can theoretically attack you even in "safe" locations if they are ballsy enough to fly around in enemy space. Check local often. If you see a war target, warp to a station, or planet at 100km or dock until he leaves. Ask the corp chat for help if you're in danger, that's what we're here for.
8. INSURANCE!!! If you participate in FW, you'll get blowed up at some point, no matter who you are or what ship you fly.
